What does it mean to be unignorable?

In the digital age, being good at your job is unfortunately not enough. To be truly successful, you must be both talented and visible. Building an authentic personal brand is the key to getting the recognition you deserve and the opportunities you dream of.
 
This is the premise I wanted to explore when I started writing my latest book. The name Unignorable came later on.
 
So what exactly does it mean to be unignorable?
 
For me being unignorable means building a reputation you love that boosts your business or career. We all have a reputation, so why not have one you love that it true and authentic to us?
 
The opposite of being unignorable is being invisible. In this economy, that’s pretty risky. If it’s your choice, that’s one thing. But so many people want to get recognised for their great work and don’t succeed. The book gives you all the strategies you need to break through that barrier.
 
But the great thing about the concept of being unignorable is that it’s not exactly set in stone, it is completely unique to who you are and what you do as a person. A few weeks ago, I had a conversation with Kat Brendel, who is an entrepreneur, podcaster and storyteller. What really struck me about our conversation is Kat’s take on what it means to build a personal brand and be unignorable. For her, personal branding is not a vanity exercise. Rather, it is about defining exactly who you are and sharing this with the world so that you attract the right kind of people. You cannot please everyone or make them pay attention, so you need to be intentional about who you want to reach. That’s how you build a strong personal brand; that’s how you become unignorable.
